Tagline or Theme
Since most of us can't put "New York Times #1 Bestselling Author" next to our name...yet, it often helps to have a sort of tagline so that people know what you're about.
What makes you different?
What do you have to bring to the table?
Why should I buy your book? How will I know if I like it?
Do you write Paranormal? Mystery? or SciFi? ~Mention it.
Do all your books take place in Austrailia? Alaska? Carribean?~Worth noting.
So if you're a Paranormal Romance writer who's books take place in Austrailia,
your tagline might be: "Entranced Down Under"
Think "Good to the Last Drop" or "Betcha can't eat just one" - don't these make you think of a particular product? That's what you're going for. But remember that a tagline is very short - it's your "title" so no one likes a mouthful. Be creative, you want to have a one of a kind saying, or at least one not too common. Just like a good book title will sell copies, the right tagline can help you draw interest to your books. Use your tagline on your blog, twitter page, website, Facebook Fan page. It's your brand ~ use it!
